For Reviewers
Journal of Biology
The Journal of Biology relies on the expertise and dedication of peer reviewers to maintain the highest standards of scientific rigor, originality, and publication ethics. Reviewers play a vital role in evaluating manuscripts submitted to the journal, providing unbiased, constructive, and timely feedback to help editors make informed publication decisions and guide authors in refining their work. Reviewers should evaluate submissions based on their conceptual novelty, technical soundness, methodological validity, statistical execution, and alignment with the journal’s scope.
When invited to evaluate a manuscript, reviewers are expected to respond promptly and decline the invitation if they face a conflict of interest, lack appropriate expertise on the core methodology, or cannot complete the review within the requested timeframe. Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents, refraining from sharing, citing, or utilizing any unpublished data or insights outside the review process. Constructive reviews should focus on objective scientific critique, highlighting key strengths while clearly outlining necessary revisions with respectful and actionable comments.
All peer evaluations are conducted under a double-blind peer-review model to ensure complete impartiality. Upon completing their evaluation through the online portal, reviewers will provide specific comments for the authors alongside confidential recommendations for the handling editor—such as Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. The Journal of Biology deeply appreciates the voluntary contributions of our international reviewer network and strives to recognize their valuable service through formal certificates of contribution and partnerships with reviewer recognition platforms.
